Even though I don’t really use Facebook this is still really cool news. On Friday June, 13th 2009 at exactly 12:01AM (about 1 day and 9 hours of publishing this post) users can go to: http://facebook.com/username and get a username! This will be real cool to see who gets the real good usernames. Facebook is doing this so its easier to direct friends and family and possible customers to your pages. I think I will be opening an “Insanelygreat01″ account and attempt to get that username! What do you guys plan to do/opinions? Do you care? Are you going to be like me and stay up until 12:01 to get your usernames? Right now going to to http://facebook.com/username will take you to a live countdown page that will automatically update at 12:01 Friday night/Saturday Morning. I wish you all luck in getting your usernames!

I was getting excited to install the new 3.0 beta 3 iPhone firmware on my iPod. I decided I’d sync it again. As I went to sync it gave me this:

Pretty much thats what it did every time. Then I checked my purchased music. All of my non iTunes Plus music… DID THE SAME THING! It asked me to authorize, I did, Then it told me to authorize! What the eff!?
I then tried everything possible! Deauthorizing, Reauthorizing, Deauthorizing all! EVERYTHING! Then I winded up restoring my iPod to see if that would fix it. Nope! After searching through apples website I finally found Support. I started a chat. Its actually really nice. Its practically an iChat window — in your browser. It says “someone will be with you in x minutes” They got to me within 30 seconds. I talk to one nice person for an hour. Who Deauthorized my account from her end etc. Then gave me an article where I had to delete a folder then restart my computer. So I said bye to her. Then of course it didn’t work. It still kept asking me to authorize…. So then I put in another “ticket”. I get someone else. She runs me through all the stuff she knows. Then she winded up having to contact “Tier 2″ Which is the level higher then her. We tried a few more things and she said she was stumped. So she said she would contact Tier 3 which will send me an email within 24-48 hours! Then a few hours later (aka like 30 minutes ago) I decided you know what? Lets try reinstalling iTunes! Guess what? It worked… Music played and I synced my iPod… I was on Customer Support for FIVE HOURS! haha. But actually truthfully I felt Apples iTunes customer support was very good. I think I just had a weird problem. The people were very nice, quick response etc. Guaranteed 837506837 times BETTER than ANY customer support I’ve had to go through.
My Experience With iTunes’ Tech Support
Author: Nik | Filed under: Opinions, Random, Tech News!As I was re-jail breaking my iPod touch on the 2.0 firmware I started to remember the good old days… You know firmware 1.1.1? They had things like http://Jailbreakme.com which jail broke your iPhone within minutes! The iPod touch and iPhone didn’t have too many features and abilities like it has today via the App Store. Then I remembered how the first thing I installed was Tap Tap Revolution -obviously, then I would install the iPhone apps like Weather and Mail etc. Then I remembered that Apple was trying to make jail breaking illegal… How will Apple survive? Because when you think about it – truthfully – us jail breakers have been leading the way. We have had so many of the “new” features of today, so many months ago. With each firmware update Apple releases they release features that were already available to jail breakers. Now my biggest question here is… If there were no jail break then how would apple know what they are really missing. By looking at what was most popular on those “underground” devices at the time Apple could tell what people were most interested in and recreate it. Pretty much I think the jail break gave Apple alot of there inspiration to add new features to the iPhone. Think if Jailbreak wasnt around Apple may have never know or thought of re-arranging your icons on your Dock and Springboard. Or what about the iPod Touch 1.1.3 App Pack? Or even giving iPhone users a seperate Address Book?! All these things were available – free – to jail breakers almost immediatly! But now as Apple trys to make jailbreaking Illegal how will this change future updates? Look at Stacks for iPhone. (pretty much same as stacks for OSX 10.5 just on the dock – on the iPhone) I find that a very innovative feature I could see being used as a native app. If you haven’t noticed already iPhone Developers cannot access the inner cores and change the UI of the iPhone! So every cool customizing features have to come from Apple! If jail breaking really does become illeagle… im just wondering how this will effect Apple. In my opinion jail break and Apple feed of each other. They need each other to keep developing and improving. Thats my 2 cents on this topic…. Whats yours?
How Will Outlawing Jail Breaking Effect Apple?

Pretty much Conficker C will be attacking tomorrow and I want to know what you will be doing to prevent this and what you think will happen to big companys who need to turn on their servers tomorrow. According to Macworld.com The beloved Macworld will no longer have its January date. In 2010 it will be on February 9th! There a couple reasons why they are doing this. The main one is that after the holidays developers have to rush to get all there products finalized. Then they have to ship them out to San Francisco and fly there just to get to Macworld. They got a lot of complaints so now its been moved! Read the rest of this article here: [source]
According to certain news stories DO NOT TURN ON ANY WINDOWS PCS ON APRIL 1ST. There is set to be a release of a very malicious worm. The worm is called “conficker c”. Could this be an April Fools joke? Or could this be for true? Im thinking its for true and its gonna kill. BUT if anyone knows anything tell Microsoft! They will be giving $250,000 USD to anyone who leads to the arrest of the developer of this worm. SO BE WARNED. THIS MAY BE FAKE BUT DONT TAKE A CHANCE…. [source]
